OECD COMMON REPORTING STANDARD ("CRS") CONSULTANCY SERVICE

We offer a full CRS Consultancy Service to High Net Worth client families and financial services firms including banks, investment managers, trustees and other fiduciaries.

These services comprise:

Full analysis of fiduciary structures to determine the CRS reporting impacts
Implementation support to financial services firms to embed the requirements of CRS
Audit assurance services to determine the adequacy of the implementation of CRS within a financial services firm
Provision of third-party CRS reporting

FIDUCIARY STRUCTURE ANALYSIS

ENTITY CLASSIFICATION

The CRS classification of an entity is a crucial first step in determining who may be reportable and who is responsible for that reporting. We:

Determine the tax residency of each entity
Classify that entity in accordance with the prevailing CRS rules of that jurisdiction
Advise on any factors that might cause an initial classification to change in the future

IDENTIFICATION OF REPORTABLE PERSONS

For each entity we:

Identify those persons who are, or may become, reportable
Determine in what capacity they are reportable
What will be reported about them
Who will be doing that reporting

MITIGATION STRATEGIES

Where possible within the confines of the regulation, we will identify possible options to mitigate reporting impacts including, but not limited to, rationalisation of a structure.

REPORTING TO CLIENTS

We prepare and issue to the client family/individual(s) a detailed written report setting out all of the above.

IMPLEMENTATION SUPPORT AND ASSURANCE

IMPLEMENTATION SUPPORT

We assist banks, asset managers, fiduciary service firms and independent trustees with the implementation of the CRS by:

Scoping the implementation project
Designing the project plan and/or reviewing existing project plans
Providing project management and / or implementation oversight, as required

ASSURANCE

We audit the adequacy and effectiveness of the implementation of CRS requirements. In particular on the arrangements and approach to:

Entity classification
Identification of account-holders and pre-existing due diligence
New account onboarding
Change of Circumstance
Reporting

Where deficiencies are noted we will provide recommendations as to the required remedial actions.

REPORT SUBMISSION

We can prepare and submit your reports to the respective tax authorities through our in-house reporting software solution hosted in Switzerland.

This includes:

Provision of a standardised data input template
Generating the CRS reports in XML format
Submission of the reports via the relevant jurisdictional tax authority portal
Confirmation of successful filing of the reports with tax authorities and provision of a full audit trail
